ED Black Charitable Trust

The late Ernest Donald Black (in 1974), in association with Nevetts Lawyers established a charitable trust. Mr Black’s generosity meant that the whole of his estate on his death constituted the trust funds. Since 1974, $964,000.00 has been distributed to a range of charities in Ballarat and District.

Most recently a further distribution was made to a number of worthwhile organisations in Ballarat being the 3BA Christmas in July appeal, Lifeline, Cops and Kids, Lighthouse Foundation, Headspace, Fishers & Loaves Network and the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute. A ceremony was held to present cheques to those charities who took the opportunity to outline the outstanding work that they undertake in the Ballarat and District Community.

Nevetts has, without charge, administered the Trust since inception and continues to do so. Peter Wilson and Paul Stephens indicated the pleasure it gave them to be able to make distributions to charities in Ballarat and District and to reward and support the work of those charities.

Charitable donations are made quarterly and any charity wishing to be considered is invited to make application to the Trust c/- Nevetts Lawyers.
